About Kryptos

In 1990, artist Jim Sanborn installed an encrypted sculpture in the courtyard at CIA headquarters. Three of its four passages were solved within a decade. The fourth, known as K4 and 97 characters long, remains unsolved after 35 years and thousands of attempts. Paradigm became the new stewards of the Kryptos secret in November, 2025, preserving the answer even from ourselves. K4 is ready and waiting for you.
